Casing

Finishes the perimeter of doors and windows, bridging the gap between jamb and wallboard for a clean, durable edge. Casing sets the reveal and visually frames openings so sightlines feel consistent from room to room. Use alone for a crisp contemporary look, or add a back band for extra depth.

Base Moulding

Establishes a tidy transition where the wall meets the floor and protects the lower wall from knocks, vacuums and mops. It also hides minor irregularities along the floor line. Run as a single piece or build it up with a base cap and/or base shoe for a taller, more architectural look.

Base Cap

Sits on top of a flat S4S baseboard to create a classic two‑piece base with a crisp shadow line. Also works as a versatile small moulding for picture‑frame wall panels or wainscot details. Clear pine machines cleanly for tight mitres and seamless returns.

A small right‑angle moulding most often used as a base shoe at the floor line. It covers perimeter expansion gaps and softens inside corners around cabinets, stairs and built‑ins. Choose the radius that matches your base profile; fixes easily with brads and adhesive.

FAQs

Where is New Zealand?!

New Zealand is a geographically diverse and beautiful country in the South Pacific Ocean. We’re home to the Lord of the Rings film sets, spectacular landscapes, and world-class food and wine, from lamb and venison to apples, seafood, and ice cream. We also grow a plentiful supply of plantation-grown Radiata Pine, known globally for its versatility, strength, and sustainability. Supported by a modern, export-oriented industry and excellent deep-water ports, New Zealand is ideally positioned to supply timber products to markets around the world.

How does NZ Pine supply compare to other countries?

New Zealand offers a combination of natural and operational advantages:

  • Long-length clears: A disciplined pruning regime throughout the 25–30-year growth cycle produces high yields of long-length, defect-free timber rarely matched elsewhere.
  • Efficient logistics: Most ports are within 100 km of sawmills, enabling export turnaround in as little as two days.
  • Ease of doing business: Transparent trade practices and alignment with Western markets make New Zealand a straightforward, reliable partner.
  • Innovation mindset: A culture of continuous improvement drives consistency, efficiency, and product advancement across the supply chain.

How does NZ Radiata Pine compare to other pine species?

New Zealand Radiata Pine is recognised as one of the most balanced and versatile plantation timbers in the world:

  • Durability: It responds exceptionally well to treatment, enhancing strength and performance across interior and exterior uses.
  • Sustainability: Most plantations are FSC® or PEFC™ certified and sustainably managed, ensuring responsible forestry at scale.
  • Growth efficiency: With a 25–30-year rotation, Radiata Pine provides a predictable and renewable supply, growing far faster than many northern species
  • Consistency and workability: Its straight grain and uniform texture make it easy to machine, glue, and finish cleanly.
  • The all-rounder: Fast-growing, stable, and adaptable, NZ Radiata Pine delivers an ideal balance of quality, yield, and sustainability for modern manufacturing.
